בשבועות האחרונים נפגש שר האוצר עם מספר מועמדים לתפקיד יו"ר ניירות ערך. בהליך אשר סוכם עם היועץ המשפטי לממשלה הועברה רשימת מועמדים, מתוך אלו שרואיינו על ידי השר, לוועדת בחינה בראשות מנכ"ל משרד האוצר, ירום אריאב.
הערב, העבירה הוועדה שניים מבין שמות המועמדים להכרעת שר האוצר, אשר הודיע כי החליט על מינויו של פרופ' גושן לתפקיד. גושן יחליף את משה טרי המסיים את תפקידו ב – 31.1.08.
